Terra Threads was born when my dining room table disappeared. It had been swallowed by bibs, burp cloths, fabric swatches, rainbows of thread, finished pieces and lots of works in progress.
One of two things had to happen. I had to either try to get invited to more baby showers, or start offering my creations to the public. The latter seemed much more fun! (Although, I love a round of Baby Bingo as much as the next girl…)
Let me introduce you to the fabric fanatic (me). My name is Tara, and I live, embroider, sew, dye and crochet in the Washington, DC Metro area. I live with my wonderful husband, Matt, who mourns the loss of our dining room, but understands the passion behind my frequent craft-supply explosions. I sort of have a secret – I’m a geek! I work with computers all day, staring at 1s and 0s, so of course I’m itching to get creative while I’m not there. Before this, I served in the U.S. Army from 2002-2005. Having been stationed in Korea, oceans away from my friends and family, I understand how exciting it is to get packages in the mail while overseas.
